Rock Standing: The Resurrection Changes Everything —Including How We Live Today
Dear Friends and Faithful Partners,
As we approach Holy Week, we pause to reflect on the most important question of our faith: Did Jesus really rise from the dead—and what does that mean for us today?
The Apostle Paul addresses this directly in 1 Corinthians:
Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 1 Corinthians 15:12–13
Paul was confronting a dangerous idea in the church at Corinth—some were claiming there was no resurrection. His response is clear and urgent: if there is no resurrection, then Jesus Himself was not raised. And if Christ is not raised, then our faith collapses. We would still be trapped in our sin, with no redemption and no hope.
Easter forces us to face a bold reality: the resurrection is not a small detail of Christianity—it is everything. It is either the greatest miracle in human history… or it is not true at all.
Think about the world the early followers of Jesus lived in. They had walked with Him for three years. They had seen miracles, witnessed healing, and heard life-changing teaching. Yet when Jesus was crucified, their hope was shattered. They were afraid, confused, and hiding. No one stood outside the tomb on Sunday morning expecting a miracle. No one said, “Maybe something incredible is about to happen.” But then—everything changed.
These same fearful followers became bold witnesses. Why? Because they saw Him. They encountered the risen Jesus Christ. Their testimony was simple and powerful: the man who was dead is now alive.
And they never stopped telling that story.
Even when threatened, persecuted, and facing death, they held firmly to what they had seen. The resurrection wasn’t just something they believed—it was something they experienced. It transformed their lives completely.
So, what does that mean for us?
It means the resurrection is not just a historical event, it is a present reality. Because Jesus lives, everything changes for us too. Death is not the end. Sin no longer has the final word. We are not without hope.
The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in us.
That means whatever you are carrying today—whether it’s a struggle with your health, financial stress, broken relationships, or the pull of worldly distractions, you are not alone and you are not without hope. The resurrection speaks directly into your situation.
It declares: there is life beyond what feels dead. There is freedom beyond what feels binding. There is restoration beyond what feels broken.
Because Christ is risen, we are redeemed. Our mortal lives are not the end of the story—God is making all things new. This Easter, don’t just celebrate the resurrection as something that happened long ago. Receive it as truth that transforms your life right now.
Christ is risen. And because He lives, there is hope for you today.
Amen.
